NEW GRANT : FAIRWORK

Fairer conditions for platform workers

A team of our very own researchers at Rabat Business School got awarded a grant from Fairwork in partnership with the University of Oxford. This grant makes RBS the first antenna in Morocco to become part of a larger team of international researchers who are trying to figure out how to certify online labor platforms.

This team, led by Principal Investigators Nacef Mouri and Jibril Abdul Bashiru, together with their team members Chris Osakwe, Najlae Zhani, Oluwatobi Ogunmokun, Frederick Pobee, and Hayford Amegbe will highlight the increase in non-standard forms of employment used by different digital platforms in Morocco, and help identify fair and sustainable work arrangements for platform workers.

Fairwork operates under a governing belief that core transparent production networks can lead to better working conditions for digital workers around the world. To this end, the Fairwork Morocco team will be assessing the most prominent digital labor platforms in Morocco against Fairwork’s five principles of fair work. More Details
